Awareness

When Charlie was diagnosed with cancer 5.5 years ago, we were clueless. There weren’t enough resources for cancer in dogs. Moreover, every vet and specialist we consulted told us that Charlie’s chances of surviving past the first year was impossible. They told us melanoma in dogs was one of the most aggressive cancers with not many treatment options available.

We refused to give up. We read every research available, looked into every holistic approach and consulted anyone we could reach. Charlie has been living with melanoma for 5.5 years. She has a metastatic disease for 16 months in August 2023. We had some rough moments in this journey but overall, Charlie still eats, walks, jumps on the bed and wags her tail.

As Charlie’s family, we wanted to compile all the resources we used in this journey. We also wanted to create a place where others who find themselves in our shoes have easy access to information from the experts in the field.
